The Replacer returns for Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops 2: Uprising

And he brought J.B. Smoove with him.

So many people are playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 that Activision’s Replacer—the guy who fills in for your life while you’re off playing video games—has been overworked. So ad agency 72andSunny decided to lighten his load for the upcoming release of downloadable Black Ops 2: Uprising content by giving Peter Stormare a partner. The two take on a whole slew of adult life responsibilities from sammiche making and criminal defense law, to boyfriend duty and surgery.

J.B. Smoove is a special individual. Any fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm knows this. And he adds a certain level of amazing to this series of ads that may just elevate it to the pantheon of ad partnerships. I know, I know, let’s not get ahead of ourselves but even Adfreak says this new team has the potential to reach John Hodgman/Justin Long “Get a Mac” status, or even that of Polaroid’s James Garner and Mariette Hartley. Can they hit the dizzying heights of Bartles and James? Dare to dream. I know they already outrank that old Canadian Tire couple.
